For the fourth time in a row, Railcolor News brings you the tender highlights of the past week:
- [HU] MÁV-START begins an accelerated (due to Covid-19) tender procedure for the acquisition of a total of 22 second-hand, air-conditioned couchette and sleeping cars for speeds of up to 200 km/h, including spare parts and operational support. The tender also mentions that several operators are currently selling such cars – another reason for MÁV to hurry up;
- [LT] This week Railcolor brought up the rebranding of the Lithuanian railways into LTG. But there is more news: a tender has been issued for the delivery of 1,435 mm (!) shunters for freight operations. Requests for participation can be submitted by 04.08.2020. Further details about the procurement can be obtained here;
- [CZ] ČD will be modernizing a total of 12 units of its 3kV DC series 440/640/650 RegioPanter EMUs. According to Czech portal Tender arena, the repairs concern the chassis of the trainsets and affect a total of 132 cars (66 drive cars and 66 intermediate ones);
- [DE] It goes fast. The previously mentioned tender of DB Regio for the procurement of up to 30 EMUs in two commissioning stages has now been awarded. Unfortunately, the contractor’s information has not been disclosed yet. Railcolor News will update you on this matter.
