The monopoly of SNCF in TER regional trains services in France may be over soon. Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (PACA) is the first region to publish a tender for selecting an operator for approximately one-third of its regional rail passenger service, for a period of 10 years.
The Azure Coast is the region that has the premiere; tendering the operation of its TER regional rail services. Interested parties can place a bid until the end of March. The province plans to select the operator(s) for two concessions:
