[DE] Special “train-ing youth” livery for 101 098

Deutsche Bahn celebrates the 50th anniversary of ‘Jugend trainiert’, Germany’s national school sports competition. It is the largest of its kind with around 800.000 participants every year. This Autumn, around 4.500 young people, with and without handicap, will travel to Berlin for the finals. The ‘Jugend trainiert’ program is vital for Germany’s future Olympic and Paralympic sports teams, hence the colorful special livery. The lucky locomotive is 101 098, and it went all rainbowy.

DB is truly a proud sponsor of the German School Sports Foundation (Deutsche Schulsportstiftung). Under the motto “Achieve your own goals”  it operates a 101 class locomotives with an unique livery. The purpose is not just to celebrate the partnership, DB sponsored all trains and accommodations for the 4,500 athletes of the federal sports finals that took place from 22 until 26 September 2019.  DB is a partner of German School Sports Foundation since 1995, and the main sponsor of the finals since 2012.

The locomotive livery holds icons of the sport disciplines along with gradual blue to green, yellow, and red shades. Locomotive 101 098 is not a newbie in Werbelok-land.. In the past, the very same locomotive had the red/silver Mini Cooper S-advertising, as well as full-color scheme change to green and blue, advertising the Bayer concern.
