[UK / Expert] Isle of Wight: Vivarail D-trains for a unique railway

Metro trains running on an island. Not inside tunnels but on a pier. Welcome to the Isle of Wight and its unique railway line, linking Ryde to Shanklin. As of the summer of 2020, newly refurbished D-Trains by Vivarail will replace the South Western Railway (SWR)’s series 483 units currently in service, which were built in 1938. That’s correct: 1938.
