On 14.08.2019 FS Italiane Groupe announced that daughter company Trenitalia UK was selected as the new operator of the West Coast rail franchise in the United Kingdom, together with FirstGroup. The news follows after the completion of a tender procedure ran by the British Department for Transport (Dft).
