On Tuesday 19.02.2019 a Desiro HC EMU arrived at the Siemens test center in Wegberg-Wildenrath. Locomotive 247 901 took the future ‘1462 002’ to the test tracks. On 01.03.2019 we could see the EMU in action for the first time. Since then the design of these trains changed slightly, after adding DB logos to the front, in combination with a dark grey stripe.

Baden-Württemberg is the second customer for the Siemens Desiro HC. The first units have entered service in the Rhein-Ruhr area last December. This yellow/white EMU will be operated by DB Regio starting in June 2020. Siemens will built 15 trainsets for the ‘Netz 4 / Rhine Valley concession that was awarded to DB Regio in January 2017. In March 2019 a test program with several of these EMUs has started at Wegberg-Wildenrath.
