It is time to hand in the paperwork. That is the latest news published by Newag about its very first electric train project abroad. A project for the delivery of five Impuls2 EMUs to Italian operator Ferrovie del Sud Est (FSE).
The first EMU, designated as ETR322 001 in accordance to the Italian numbering system, has been in Italy since the end of 2016. (the unit also has a Polish number: 36WEb-001) The unit has now passed successfully dynamic tests on the RFI (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana) network in the Tuscany region.
The completion of the above-mentioned tests allows for submission of applications for circulation permits to the Italian national Railway Safety Agency – ANSF (Agenzia Nazionale per la Sicurezza delle Ferrovie).
The Impuls2 trains for FSE represent the first EMUs to be exported from Poland to Western Europe and mark a further milestone in the development of Newag.
