[IT] Trenitalia issues tender for the acquisition of unwanted V250 trains

Trenitalia has issued a tender on TED. It states: Trenitalia wants to close a deal for the delivery of 17 trains of the type V250. The contract should include five years of full-service maintenance, with an option for five more years.

It is a tender specifically written for one type of train (the V250 originally built for the Dutch and Belgian railways), to be delivered by a specific manufacturer (Hitachi Rail Italy, formerly known as AnsaldoBreda).

Earlier this year, a local Italian news paper released the news that the V250 would make their come-back this year on the Lecce – Rome – Bari relation, and we released this news too. But until now, nothing has happened, the information was incorrect.
