Jernbaneverket, the managing company for infrastructure from Norway, ordered 11 ‘multi-purpose vehicles’ (MPV) from Windhoff in 2014. The will be used for maintenance of railway infrastructure.
The MPVs have a power output of 500 kW and their Vmax is 100 km/h. They are featuring a crane and a moving bordes. During the winter, snow ploughs and even a snow blower can be installed. The first two vehicles were delivered early 2016, for testing purposes. During InnoTrans 2016, the third MPV was presented.
