[UK] Hitachi unveils first UK-built Intercity Express Train

On December 9, Hitachi Rail celebrated the roll-out of the first Intercity Express (IEP) train, built in the UK at its manufacturing facility in Newton Aycliffe. Hitachi opened the 82 million pound factory and maintenance facility in September 2015.

Hitachi will build 122 modern intercity trains for passengers travelling on the Great Western and East Coast main lines. On 10.01.2017, Hitachi published a video about the same topic:
