We are slowly leaving the time of randomly assigned fleet numbers for Vectron locomotives, filling each gap Siemens could still find to complete the ’91 80 6193′ EVN-number sequence. The decision has been made to continue with ’91 80 7193′ for the locomotives registered in Germany.
Siemens had to find a new EVN number for its ongoing Vectron production as almost all 91 80 6193 xxx- EVN numbers have been used. So, the first 7193 number sequences have been assigned to customers:
- 91 80 7193 001-… > Akiem
- 91 80 7193 101-… > Alpha Trains
- 91 80 7193 195-… > Railpool
- 91 80 7193 300-… > TX Logistik
- 91 80 7193 800-… > Beacon Rail
This is similar to how once the first Vectron were numbered. You can assign numbers according to the order in which orders are finally placed. But again, Siemens chooses to give some customers their own sub-series, which will ultimately not fit, as there are more customers than a well-defined number series. It is also notable that Siemens has no fixed rules; some customers get the first locomotive with an x00 number, while others start at x01.
