ÖBB-Technische Services GmbH (ÖBB TS), LTE Logistics & Transport Europe (LTE), and ELL European Locomotive Leasing (ELL) have formed a joint venture company for servicing locomotives in the center of Europe. They will open a new workshop in Gramatneusiedl (AT).
The new joint venture, named ETL Lokservice GmbH should start operation in the autumn of 2021. It will be situated in Gramatneusiedl near Vienna, a strategic cross point of freight corridors. With ÖBB TS bringing many years of professional maintenance experience, the remaining two partners bring their fleet to be serviced here. The workshops will be open to all fleet owners and operators that want to make use of its services.

Remarkable: The project took years to prepare and another year was needed to get the green light from the EU in Brussels.
With 152 Siemens Vectrons locomotives in the ELL fleet and 80 additional vehicles operated by LTE Group, the workshop should not be lacking business. Spreading on 1,000 m2 space and with four work stands, the workshop will mainly focus on Siemens Vectron locomotives – the only locomotive in the ELL fleet, some of them also leased to the other JV partner – LTE.
