[HU / Expert] MÁV-Start’s first KISS enters service; delivery delays announced

With all the preliminary tests now completed, the time has come for the newly introduced series 815 to enter revenue service – although still in trial mode – for the Hungarian state-owned operator MÁV-Start. The first double-deck EMU entered commercial service on 15.03.2020.

The Budapest-Nyugati-Cegléd-Szolnok line has been selected for the premiere of unit 815 007, which now has all the necessary permits. Shortly (in April), services connecting Budapest Nyugati with Vác and Szob will follow with a second trainset that is currently being prepared for service. The following trainsets, which will be arriving between May and August, will be also deployed on the abovementioned routes.
