[Data] All Siemens test locomotives – where are they now? [updated]

It was time for an update! In 2018 we published an overview of all Siemens Vectron locomotives that have been used by Siemens by any kind of test, homologation or demonstration project (before getting sold to a customer). What is the current situation?

We count all locomotives that are branded by Siemens itself as ‘Vectron/Siemens’ locomotive. These machines are white with a dark grey frame. The older machines have silver painted cab roofs, the newer ones are just plain white.

We take a look at the following machines (bold = still in Siemens ownership):

  • Vectron DC Poland: 191/5170 020, 021, 034
  • Vectron DC Italy: 191 001, 004=100
  • Vectron AC Medium Power: 192 961, 962
  • Vectron MS: 193 780, 818, 819, 820, 821, 822, 823, 829, 839, 844, 901, 902
  • Vectron AC: 193 921, 922, 923, 924, 930, 963 (841), 970, 971
