[DE] The Stadler EuroDual in Captrain design

At the end of 2018, German rail freight operator ITL Eisenbahngesellshaft, a subsidiary of Captrain Deutschland, ordered four EuroDual locomotives. These will be used for heavy freight services in Germany, with a speed of up to 120 km/h.

The ITL machines will be electric (6.15MW, 15kV and 25kV AC) and diesel-electric (Caterpillar C175016, 2.8 MW, Stage IIIB). The locomotives will be equipped with ETCS BSL3, PZB, three-way catalytic converters, cameras, and remote control.

They will enter service in 2020.
