[CZ] The ‘new’ LeoExpress DMUs have arrived [edit]

Edit on 28.12.2018: Leo Express is not the new owner of the DMUs, but is leasing them. We edited this article accordingly.

On 19 december 2018 fourteen Lint DMUs were transported to the Czech Republic for Leo Express. The trainsets, formely used for the HarzElbeExpress (HEX), come from Transdev.

In August 2018 Leo Express secured fifteen Alstom Lint DMUs from Transdev Sachsen-Anhalt GmbH, operator of the HarzElbeExpress (HEX). After Abellio took over traffic in this German region as of 9 December 2018, the Lints were no longer used and were free to be moved to the Czech Republic.

The following DMUs have been transported in a 500 m long train to  the German-Czech border by Railadventure’s 139 558:

  • 10x Lint 41 (former HEX VT 800-806, 808, 809 and 811);
  • 4x Lint 27 (former HEX VT 872, 873, 875 and 867).

In January 2019 the fifteenth DMU, a Lint 41, will be transported to the Czech Republic.

In Hranice, in the East Czech region of Moravia, the units will be adapted for operations on lines 24 (Ústí nad Orlicí – Mlýnický Dvůr) and 25 (Dolní Lipka – Hanušovice) in the Pardubice region, traffic acquired by Leo Express only recently. Leo Express will run the these lines for 10 years starting December 2019.
