Adria Transport acquires its first vectron locomotive

The Siemens ‘Firefox’ stickers and ELL logos are gone. Locomotive 193 822 is now white again and it has a new owner: Adria Transport. It was officially handed over to this rail freight operator from Slovenia on 10.01.2018 – The locomotive’s UIC raster tells that its country specific package has been changed into DE/AT/HU/PL/CZ/SK/RO/HR/SI. The locomotive has not been cleared yet for PL/CZ/SK/RO yet. Read more

Bombardier MS3: ‘just married’

Bombardier is eagerly building the first ‘pre-series’ TRAXX DC3 and MS3 locomotives. Newest milestone is that the first MS3 has just been placed on its bogies, which is also known as the ‘marriage’.

ČD Cargo wants up to 55 new locomotives

ČD Cargo from the Czech Republic has published a tender for the acquisition of up to 55 new locomotives. ČD Cargo wants to close a frame contract that includes an initial order for ten multi system electric locomotives and three diesel locomotives. Read more

ELL and LTE celebrate interoperability

GTS Rail orders TRAXX DC3 locomotives

GTS Rail is the second operator to order the new TRAXX DC3, soon also to be known as series 494. In February 2019 Bombardier will hand over the first machine, and four more will follow. With these five new machines the number of TRAXX electrics in the fleet of GTS Rail will grow to fifteen.  Read more

LokRoll Vectrons for SBB Cargo International – update

This month, Siemens will delivered Vectron no.3 and 4 to LokRoll, which will hire them SBB Cargo International. Both locomotives were seen during a trial run on 24.01.2018 – fully wrapped. Locomotives 193 463 is named ‘Duisburg’ and 193 464 sports the name and coat of arms of Arth-Goldau.

On 05.02.2018 the 193 463 ‘Duisburg’ will be officially presented in, well, Duisburg of course. SBB Cargo Deutschland GmbH, invites you to attend this ceremony, starting at 12.00. (The address is Schifferstrasse 166, 47059 Duisburg) – 193 463 will be on display near SBB’s office from 12.30 until 15.00.

Medway: series 5600 in new design

Portuguese rail freight operator is repainting its 4700 and 5600 series electrics. This is machine no. 5623 in full Medway livery:

railCare: 476 452 and 453 enter service

Both were officially approved for delivery on 01.11.2017. Both have the Siemens ‘Diesel Power Module’ on board, with a diesel engine from Steyr Motors. On 23.01.2017, the 453 completed its ‘maiden service’. With the arrival of the Vectron no.2 and 3 for this operator, lease locomotives 186 106 and 186 452 were given back to lease company Railpool. Read more
