[HU] CZ Loko Effishunter 1600 in Hungary for the first time

On 3 February, CZ Loko’s six-axled heavy duty shunter 774 714-0 was seen in Komárom, Hungary, while performing dynamic trials. Configured for operations on Czech, Slovakian, Hungarian and Polish rails, it had not run in other countries than the Czech Republic and Slovakia up until now. On February 14, the loco returned to Hungary for further trial runs.

The 774.7 or ‘Effishunter 1600’ is a heavily modernized version of former ČME742 locomotives of the Czech railways (770/771 series). Units have been built for both 1.435 mm normal gauge and 1.524 mm broad gauge. Learn about all versions and customers on MainlineDiesels.net.
