Shunting coaches, without shunting vehicle or locomotive, Siemens offers a solution. They have developed a drive module which can be built under the most common types of passenger coaches. Its electric motor has an output of 9 kW and a thrust force of 2600 Nm. A passenger coaches (with a weight up to 50 tons) can then move itself with a maximum speed of 10 km/h. After 15 kilometers, the module must be recharged.
