As part of its cooperation with Olympic Team Germany and the German Paralympic Team, Deutsche Bahn has presented locomotive 101 071 in a new golden livery. The machine will be a ‘rolling ambassador’ until the end of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games.
Just days before the start of the Olympic wintergames in PyeongChang in South Korea, the 101 series locomotive was presented at Berlin Hauptbahnhof in the presence of Dr. Bum Goo Jong, South Korea’s Ambassador in Germany, and Sven Hannawald, former German ski jumper. Mr. Hannawald is also starring in the new image video of Deutsche Bahn, promoting sport as a mean to strengthen solidarity and enthusiasm for a common cause. The presentation was also the start of a 14-day journey that Youtuber Kelly MissesVlog and Paralympic athlete Mathias Mester will make to PyeongChang, mostly by train.
Deutsche Bahn has been supporting the Deutschen Sportbund/Deutscher Olympischer Sportbund since 2002. DB Schenker is co-partner of the DOSB since the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Now, DB is the official mobility partner, subsidiary DB Schenker is the exclusive logistics partner.
