In early-October 2017, CZ LOKO announced that it received an order from Italy’s Dinazzano Po for another two Class 741.7 diesel locomotives. Now, both locomotives have been completed by the Czech manufacturer.
Several Italian operators have decided to add Class 741.7 locomotives to their fleets in recent years, steadily raising the number of Class 741.7 locomotives in Italy to seven. In 2017, Dinazzano Po decided to expand its Class 741.7 fleet to four by ordering another two locomotives, scheduled to be delivered in early-2018. On 5 January 2018, the two additional locos, designated 741 733-0 and 734-8, were seen outside the CZ LOKO works in Česká Třebová. The locos are not completely new. In 2017, the locos spent some time in service for Unipetrol Doprava, carrying the red and grey CZ LOKO livery.
Earlier, the company had already decided to extend the initial two-year hire contract of the first two machines (delivered in 2015) by another two years, after which it will purchase the locomotives from CZ LOKO. An overview of all 741.7 locomotives ordered by Italian operators:
