[FR] Paris: First phase of the T11 Express line opens with Citadis Dualis

As of 01.07.2017, Alstom Citadis Dualis trams are in revenue service on the T11 ‘Express’ tram line in Paris. Fifteen vehicles will enter service on the first part of the T11, connecting Epinay-sur-Seine with Le Bourget.

After 2023, the T11 Express line will be extended towards the east and the west. For the sections Sartrouville – Epinay-sur-Seine and Le Bourget – Noisy-le-Sec another 38 vehicles will be needed.

The Citadis Dualis is Alstom’s so-called tram-train, developed for running on both innercity tram networks as well on mainline rail networks. The T11 tram-trains are part of a framework contract signed by Alstom and SNCF in 2007 for up to 200 sets. Two options have been exercised for Ile-de-France, the one for T11 in June 2014, and one for 15 trains in December 2015, to be delivered from October 2017 with commercial commissioning planned for 2018 on line T4.
